The European Master's Commission Directors' Retreat was held in Brussels, Belgium, October 8th -11th. A highlight was the official opening of the European Masters Commission headquarters on the second floor of the Assemblies of God World Missions ministries center near Brussels.
Master's Commission Europe is an intense, nine-month discipleship program with a vision to help students know God more intimately and to make Him known.
These programs are not only for students who intend to pursue full-time ministry; they are for anyone who desires to follow Jesus Christ to the utmost of their ability. Master's Commission Europe is a unique blend of cultures, bringing students together from all nations. The time students spend deepening their relationship with God prepares them for a life that will continue to grow and thrive far beyond their nine months in the program. It gives them a foundation that will last a lifetime.
There are now Master's Commission programs in Finland, Denmark, Spain, England, Ireland, Estonia, Austria, France, Norway, Holland and Bosnia-Herzegovina. New programs may soon open in Scotland, Belgium, and Sweden.
Assemblies of God missionary associates, Nolan and Hannah Tarantino are heading up the new office and will soon be joined by AGWM missionaries, Dan and Silvana Place.
The Master's Commission board is made up of personnel from six countries and includes AGWM missionary Michael McNamee, Nolan Tarantino, and Jeremy DeWeerdt, pastor of First Assembly of God, Rockford, Illinois.
"This is God's time for Master's Commission in Europe," says Michael McNamee. "It is one of the tools that He is using to turn the youth of Europe towards Him. Our goal is to have 50 MC programs with 750 students in the next few years."
