SPAIN, PRAY FOR SPAIN

August 4, 2008

On March 1, 2008, in downtown Madrid there was a prayer gathering of over four thousand believing Christians from all over Spain in front of the famous Real Madrid soccer stadium. The gathering called "Espana Ora Por Espana" (Spain Pray for Spain) was to focus on interceding in prayer on behalf of the nation. Some of the top Spanish leaders of major denominations and movements led in these prayers. They touched on many strategic prayer points relating to important spiritual, economic, and social needs in Spain. There was an overwhelming sense that the Lord is already beginning to do some incredible things in this spiritually needy country.

One of the prayer points was specifically for the issues of immigration and the culturally diverse communities living in Spain. Pastor Juan Carlos Escobar, pastor of Iglesia Celebracion Cristiana and President of the Assemblies of God of Spain, led the prayer for immigration and specifically prayed against terrorism. He was joined on the platform by a Korean missionary, and African and Latin American pastors.
