AGWM Personnel, Ed and Faith Ferguson, minister in Germany to American military families based there. Some of their congregation have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and the Fergusons continue to minister to the spouses and children of those who are "down range".
Another aspect of their ministry is volunteering at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Army Hospital where all the wounded are brought. They constantly see those whose lives will be forever altered due to the wounds they have received.
One military personnel who happened to be a missionary "kid" came with such severe wounds that at first, his life was in danger. Then there was talk of amputating his right leg. The Fergusons spent many hours with him in the ICU. They prayed, cried, and often just held his hand. He sent a message to them recently saying that their presence with him gave him hope! He did not die and did not lose a leg. He is now walking...but not without a great deal of pain.
In one month a while back, over 1,000 wounded were treated at that hospital. There have been well over 40,000 wounded that have been treated in all. Most remain only three or four days, as if they are well enough to be moved, they must make space for the newly wounded arriving by plane daily. The Fergusons are making a difference to these lives as they minister in the church and at the hospital.
